When it comes to choosing a software system for HACCP, a management system that's web-based makes a lot of sense. Too often managers select a system based on whatever kind of computer they’re familiar with, purchase a single license application for that computer, and hope for the best. An application that can be run from a central server and viewed and used within browsers on multiple thin-client computers is much more flexible.
It’s quite common that the implementation of the seven principles of HACCP is spread throughout a facility, possibly even being separated within multiple buildings on a company’s campus. With the software running on a central server and multiple operator points throughout the processes, the software becomes simpler to operate for individual locations. Managers with various access levels can also travel among the processes and have access to deeper information at any point.
The use of wireless sensor systems also makes for a broader physical system. Wireless points can feed back to receivers at the central server or, with physically larger systems, feed back to the local thin client computers and use the network to push data to the central server, all depending on how the system is designed.
Companies have a lot of choices when it comes to HACCP systems. A custom-tailored system, such as one from Tuppas Software, tailored to a facility’s needs and processes, ensures the best available software for full-scale documentation of processes.
